There were so many exciting and brilliant scenes in this update but this one was my favourite. It was so sexy and after I finished reading it, I closed my eyes and could picture Pacey standing there in front of Joey gazing down at her with those sexy eyes just staring. It made by heart melt. Beautifully written as usual Juliet."Hey."
Joey quickly turned her head, surprised and a little startled to hear another voice break the peaceful hush of the summer's night. Her heart clenched and did a little backwards flip inside her chest as Pacey approached from the shadows of the yard to slow to a stop right in front of her, and she jabbed the toe of her sneaker in the dirt to stop swing short.
"Hey." She greeted him with some quiet surprise. He only ducked his head with a small smile, his hand tucked into the pockets of his trousers as he glanced over at the creek. Grasping the rope a little tighter, nervously rubbing her thumb against the rough twine, Joey had to swallow in order to speak. "I, um…I thought you were working tonight."
"I got out early."
It occurred to her then that he hadn't seen the baby all day, and her tense posture relaxed slightly. That's obviously why he was here.
"Well, unfortunately, you missed her," she said. "She went down kind of early tonight. She's already asleep."
"Yeah, I figured she would be." Pacey shrugged his shoulder, glancing down at the ground. "I actually came to see you."
Frowning, Joey studied him warily while his eyes were lowered. "Why?" she asked. She really wasn't prepared right now to continue what she started with him this morning.
Pacey sighed then, easing a step closer as he took his hands from his pockets to reach up and lightly grasp onto the ropes. Holding the swing in place, so close that her knees bumped and brushed against his leg, he cocked his head to gaze down at her.
"Why do you think?"
Joey stole a tentative glance up. The position of his lean, strong arms on the swing enhanced the bulge of his biceps, and the Icehouse polo clung to the hard wall of his chest, riding up just a little to expose a strip of his tanned and muscled lower abdomen. Spying just a tiny glimpse of that dark trail of hair, her heart lurched, caught briefly in the sweeping sensation of desire.
I am so glad we are starting to get some action out of these two crazy kids. It's about damn time. The way they get jealous with one another but won't admit it and then they let it boil to the surface and they just can't keep it in. If only they'd given into the sexual tension and given into that!!
I love Jack's little cryptic comments. He knows Pacey and Joey belong together and that them having Meg together is one of the best things to happen even if it did hurt Andie in the end. I'm glad she's moving on and out of Capeside.
How wondeful is Bessie giving sage advice and opinions to Joey that are so on the mark. Joey needs to listen to her more and take her advice.
I am in anticipation of the next update Juliet. Will we get to see their first date and will Joey put out haha. Lets bloody hope so...........
